2018-05-17 · Testicular cancer might be given a clinical T category (written as cT) based on the results of a physical exam, biopsy, and imaging tests (as described in Tests for Testicular Cancer). Once surgery is done, the pathologic T category (written as pT) is determined by examining tissue removed during the operation. Postpubertal germ cell tumors that are confined to the testicular parenchyma and lack lymphovascular invasion are pT1, pT1a or pT1b. Pure seminoma is stratified as pT1a and pT1b based on a 3 cm threshold.
